Der Band umfaßt acht Berichte über Feldforschungen der vergangenen Jahre in Syrien, Libanon, Israel und Jordanien. Im Vordergrund stehen Siedlungen oder Siedlungssysteme des 4.-1. Jt. v.Chr. Kulturelle Phänomene, die behandelt werden, sind Landschaftsnutzungskonzepte, Siedlungssysteme, territoriale Organisation von Lebensräumen sowie Merkmale der Stadtplanung und Formen der Produktion und Subsistenz. Inhaltlich reichen die Berichte von archäologischen Bestandsaufnahmen bis zur Darstellung historischer Zusammenhänge. The present volume comprises eight reports on field research of the last years in Syria, Lebanon, Israel, and Jordan. In the focus of interest are settlements and settlement systems of the 4th to 1st millennium B.C. Cultural phenomena dealt with are concepts of land use, settlement systems, territorial organization of biotopes as well as characteristics of city planning and types of production and subsistence. As to their content, the articles reach from archaeological stock-taking to accounts of historical contexts.
