The volume is dedicated to the memory of Bernd Engelhard [1945-2017] and contains a foreword, words of welcome, a retrospect for the 25th anniversary of the study group, and 20 papers on “rebuilt history”. These contributions deal with sites in Stiftland area, distr. Tirschenreuth, history, quality, and practice of archaeological parks, simulated archaeological reality, Czech archaeoparks, reconstructed historical buildings in Innviertel district, the Linear Pottery house of Straubing-Lerchenhaid, the archaeopark at Netolice, Hallstatt timber architecture at Mitterkirchen, the historical park Bärnau-Tachov, reconstructed barrows in Southern and Western Bohemia, foundations and methodical problems of prehistoric house reconstructions, new possibilities of reconstructions, the Late Medieval village house of Prag-Liboc, the archaeological park Altmühl Valley, installations and new buildings on the Limes, the open-air museum at Březno, a reconstructed loom of the Urnfield Culture, the visualisation of the Medieval deserted village at Hol, buildings in Pořešín Castle, and the question who will benefit from historical reconstructions.
