Autorinformation
Jessica P. Chang received her B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007 where she developed an interest in topology and computer science. After completing an independent study course in topology under Prof. Genevieve Walsh, she became interested in applying topology to real-world problems. As an undergraduate, she researched topological modeling of DNA under the direction of Prof. Isabel Darcy. During this time she co-authored a publication on using knot theory to model DNA-protein complexes. She then went on to obtain her M.S. in Mathematics from New York University in 2010. There she worked with Prof. Dennis Shasha applying her knowledge of knot theory and DNA to the present work.
