Anja Steinberg explores the meaning of empathy in a systematic and exegetic manner. Here, she focuses on social and pastoral links and God’s works in us human beings. Theme-centered interaction (TCI), non-violent communication (NVC) and resonance pedagogy represent methods and (life) attitudes with which empathy becomes vivid and worth learning and teaching. Using a multiperspective-theological and interdisciplinary approach, the author demonstrates possibilities for a modern, “empathic” religious education.
