La collection «THETA» est consacrée à la publication d'études portant sur le théâtre de la Renaissance européenne, et d'abord anglaise, et sur son arrière-plan culturel. Lieu de rencontre et de débat, elle accueille sans exclusive toutes les approches. Ce premier volume réunit des articles issus des trois premières Tables rondes du théâtre Tudor (CESR de Tours) portant sur la problématique du personnage et celle du texte dramatique et théâtral dans le théâtre anglais du XVe au XVIIe siècles. Au coeur du renouvellement des pratiques théâtrales, ces questions inspirent aussi de continuelles réévaluations critiques. Primarily meant to host studies about the drama of the English - and European - Renaissance, this «THETA» series aims to be a forum for exchange and debate. This volume collects papers from the first three Round Tables on Tudor Drama (by CESR, Tours) on the topics of character, and of play and performance text, two questions variously problematized both in production and in the closet, and here applied to plays from the Tudor and Jacobean periods.
