The camp, which at times held over 8,000 prisoners, was a satellite camp of the Mittelbau Dora concentration camp and existed from 1st May 1944 to 6th April 1945. As the German-German zonal border ran through the middle of the camp after the end of World War II, it was razed to the ground by 1958 on the GDR side and by 1964 on the FRG side and largely forgotten. The chance discovery of a burnt human bone in 2019 led to careful and minimally invasive archaeological investigations in 2022-4, which made it possible for two sites to be recognised as war cemeteries. In connection with the implementation of a memorial and educational site, a detailed camp plan has now been drawn up in addition to the historical sources already published in 2009, and all preserved structural traces on the site have been documented. On this basis, the present publication describes the development of the building stock in 1944-5, starting from the pre-camp factory site, as well as the surviving remains of buildings and infrastructure, including prisoner accommodation, sanitary facilities, infirmary, military barracks, crematorium, camp fence, and fifteen watchtowers.Das zeitweise mit über 8.000 Häftlingen belegte Lager war ein Außenlager des Konzentrationslagers Mittelbau Dora und bestand vom 01.05.1944-06.04.1945. Da die Zonengrenze nach Kriegsende mitten durch das Lager verlief, wurde es bis 1958 auf der DDR- bzw. bis 1964 auf der BRD-Seite dem Erdboden gleichgemacht und weitgehend vergessen. Der Zufallsfund eines verbrannten Menschenknochens 2019 führte zu behutsamen und minimalinvasiven archäologischen Untersuchungen 2022-24, welche die Anerkennung zweier Fundstellen als Kriegsgräberstätten ermöglichten. Im Zusammenhang mit der Gestaltung als Gedenkstätte und Bildungsstätte wurden ergänzend zu den bereits 2009 publizierten historischen Quellen nunmehr ein detaillierter Lagerplan erstellt und alle erhaltenen baulichen Spuren im Gelände dokumentiert. Auf dieser Grundlage beschreibt die vorliegende Arbeit die Entwicklung des Baubestandes 1944-45 ausgehend vom vorlagerzeitlichen Fabrikgelände sowie die erhaltenen Reste von Gebäuden und Infrastruktur, darunter Häftlingsunterkünfte, Sanitärbereich, Krankenrevier, Militärbaracken, Krematorium, Lagerzaun und fünfzehn Wachtürme.
