Produktinformation
This book explores the long-term employment, career, and life outcomes for Generation A, the half million people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who will reach adulthood in the next decade. As the number of individuals with autism that are eligible to enter the workforce grows, research is needed to help organizations and individuals work together to create successful work experiences and careers for individuals with ASD. Generation A will be entering the workforce in unprecedented numbers and will have a large effect on today’s workforce. This book explores issues surrounding ASD in the workplace, from an individual, organizational, and societal perspective. The authors present a framework for organizations to use in developing programs to hire individuals with ASD. The book also examines the stigma of autism and how it affects the employment and careers of individuals with ASD.  This timely book provides researchers with empirical data and research that examines the work and career experiences of individuals with ASD at all career stages.
